Discovery

We will look over your inquiry and follow up with any relevant questions. After that, we'll send you a custom proposal for your project.

Development

As the project unfolds, we’ll complete the content development process together before working through live design mock-ups until we’re at a launch point.

Launch

Once the project goes global, we’ll transfer necessary ownership and keep contributor access to your site/platforms for future assistance as needed.

  • If you don’t have a domain or email yet, we’ll help you get set up all under one roof. If you need a domain adjustment or transfer with your current provider, we can help with that too.

  • We get all of our clients set up on their own hosting account through the best fitting platform for their business and provide training on how to upkeep billing for their domains, websites, emails, and marketing tools (a.k.a. keeping an active credit card on file). Clients fully own their sites, and we keep contributor access to assist as needed.

  • We work with each company on their specific content needs. We find that naturally written content provided by the specialist usually comes across the best for customers, but we’re also happy to help develop and brainstorm content ideas and direction.

  • Imagery is a big one as our sites are very image-focused! Most of our clients come ready with photos and videos, and we optimize them for web use and search friendliness. For clients short on images or videos, we utilize free and paid tools to obtain brand imagery for your site. Perhaps your site will be more graphic or text-based, and that’s fine too.

  • We can happily assist in graphics and logo designs for your site, but we typically work with graphic designers that specialize solely in that arena while focusing more on web design aesthetics.

  • A favorite book here at Appear is Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. Finding ideas and concepts from other inspirational businesses is entirely normal and a-ok, while plagiarism is not ok. Originality is subjective, and it all comes down to spinning the narrative and interpreting your unique style.

  • I’m Matt. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication with a focus on marketing and web.

    I have over 10 years of experience in managing businesses online and have built 100+ websites.

    I am a Squarespace Expert + Authorized Trainer and a Shopify Partner.

  • Each project is unique, and every proposal is custom-built. We setup all recurring subscriptions under the client, and keep contributor access. There are two cost types in our projects; recurring and flat rates.

    1. Recurring costs

    Domains: $20/yr per domain (includes privacy and SSL)

    Website/hosting: $300/yr ±

    Emails: $72/yr per email

    Marketing tools: $300/yr + (e.g. email marketing, scheduling)

    2. Flat Rate Costs

    We provide a flat rate bid for every new project based on site size, services needed, site value, and estimated time.

    All platforms and tools are set up under or transferred to your business so that you have full ownership of your online accounts throughout the future.

  • Usually pretty darn fast. We’ve been known to knock sites out within a week, depending on our availability. We’ve also had larger projects last a couple of months. All in all, we like to work the process naturally so nobody loses any sleep over it. We schedule projects based on our availability, and sometimes they can be a week or a month out. In short, we want to aim for two weeks to a month per project.

  • You bet! We love letting our clients sit back and watch their websites work for them. We provide hourly assistance and consulting at $125/hr and track our time over the course of a month (with a 20-minute monthly minimum).

    Send us an email, or call us with your edits, and we’ll aim to get to them within 48 hours (but usually within the same day).

  • Oh yeah! We love to train our clients to maintain their sites and marketing platforms in-house post-launch, and we can provide as much or as little training as needed.
